The research group is working on the development of the gastrointestinal tract in neonatal animals. Though our group operates within the Department of Physiological Sciences Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Warsaw University of Life Sciences (WULS-SGGW) in Warsaw (Poland) we have a wide cooperation with many academic and research institutions in Poland and abroad. We are interested in several aspects of the postnatal development of gastrointestinal tract including small intestine and pancreas structure and function, gut motility, pancreatic secretion as well as their neurohormonal regulations. Our aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of neonates and weaned animals using methods based on a deep understanding the physiology of the gastrointestinal tract.
